Owning a large dog can be a wonderful and rewarding experience.  Many of the larger breeds have such an imposing presence that it can be intimidating, and surely enough to terrify any intruders, but they actually very gentle and loving.  Here are some examples:

 1.  Terminal Fur Coat 

This Newfoundland dog is showing off his double fur coat.  There’s a soft, undercoat and a coarse, long outer coat.  Regardless, you just want to hug the critters!

2.  The best mode of transportation 

Taxi anyone?  This Leonberger is just giving his little friend a lift.  While these gentle and loving creatures make fantastic pets they do shed a lot.  Twice a year the Leonberger will shed in heaps.  There’s no other way to describe it.  Heaps.

3.  Dog or lion? 

This is a Tibetan mastiff.  It was August of 2013 when a zoo in China’s Henan Province attempted to convince people one of these furry beasts was actually a lion.  The lame attempt was exposed when the “lion” began barking….
